Bus Tickets
-
✓
Operator-Specific: Cancellation policies and charges are set by the private bus operator, not blueBus.
-
✓
Time-Based Charges: The refund amount depends on how many hours before departure you cancel. (e.g., 0-12 hours, 12-24 hours, etc.).
-
✓
Partial Cancellation: Usually available. You can cancel tickets for just one or two passengers in a larger booking.
-
✓
Non-Refundable: Some promotional tickets may be non-refundable. Please check the policy *before* booking.

IRCTC Rules: Policies are set by Indian Railways (IRCTC). Charges are fixed based on time slots and ticket status.
-
✓
Ticket Status Matters:
• Confirmed (CNF): Cancellation charges apply based on time (e.g., >48 hrs, 48-12 hrs).
• Waitlisted (WL): Auto-cancelled if not confirmed. Full refund minus a small clerkage fee. -
✓
Partial Cancellation: Available. You can cancel specific passengers on a multi-passenger PNR.

✓
Filing TDR: For special cases (e.g., train delayed 3+ hours, missed connecting train), you must file a TDR (Ticket Deposit Receipt) for a refund.
Cancellation FAQs
How long does it take to get my refund?
Once you cancel your ticket, the refund is processed by us immediately. It typically takes 5 to 7 business days to reflect in your original mode of payment (credit card, bank account, wallet, etc.).
What happens if my waitlisted (WL) train ticket isn't confirmed?
If your e-ticket remains fully waitlisted (WL) after the train's chart is prepared, it is automatically cancelled. You do not need to do anything. A full refund, after deducting a small IRCTC clerkage charge, will be processed to your account.
Why am I not getting a full refund?
All cancellations (except for auto-cancelled WL train tickets) are subject to cancellation fees. These fees are set by the bus operator or Indian Railways. Additionally, the initial service fee or convenience fee charged by blueBus at the time of booking is typically non-refundable.
What is a TDR and when should I file it?
A TDR (Ticket Deposit Receipt) is a request for a refund from Indian Railways for specific situations where you couldn't travel. You should file a TDR if:
- The train was delayed by more than 3 hours and you did not travel.
- You missed a connecting train because your first train was late.
- The AC failed in your coach.
- Your coach was not attached to the train.
